Jardiance vs Farxiga Cost: US Coverage and Access Checks

Jardiance and Farxiga are both SGLT2 inhibitors, but the cost comparison needs each product’s indication, strength and claim result. Their assistance routes also differ, including a dated change to new Farxiga enrollment in AZ&Me.

Start with the reason for treatment

Both medicines have several approved uses, but the exact populations and label wording differ. Ask the clinician whether both are appropriate for the intended glucose, heart or kidney goal. A shared SGLT2 mechanism does not establish identical indications, individual outcomes or kidney-function instructions.

Compare the prescribed tablets over the same period

Use the clinician-selected strength for each medicine and request a 30- or 90-day quote on a consistent basis. A 25 mg Jardiance tablet is not numerically equivalent to a 10 mg Farxiga tablet. Do not use price per milligram as an efficacy or value measure, and do not infer that the highest strength is appropriate for every indication.

Get the personal formulary result

Ask the plan about each exact product and prescribed indication, including authorization, deductible effects and quantity limits. If one is preferred, ask what the nonpreferred product would require rather than assuming it is entirely excluded. Clinical suitability and the actual member payment should both be resolved before the comparison is actionable.

Compare US support and whole-regimen costs

Keep commercial savings, patient assistance and the cost of a complete regimen separate.

Commercial support Use Jardiance’s current official eligibility pathway Use Farxiga’s current official savings terms
Patient assistance Eligibility and approval must be confirmed for the individual applicant AZ&Me stopped accepting new Farxiga patients on May 1, 2026

Different savings and assistance rules

Jardiance and Farxiga have separate commercial savings terms and eligibility requirements. AZ&Me patient assistance is a different program; it stopped accepting new Farxiga patients on May 1, 2026. Existing participants should ask about their own enrollment and renewal status. An offer or application form does not by itself confirm approval.

Keep combination tablets out of a partial comparison

Synjardy and Xigduo XR include metformin, while Glyxambi includes linagliptin. Their prices describe different prescriptions. If a combination or separate-ingredient regimen is clinically considered, compare the whole regimen and all claims over the same period, with release type and duplicate ingredients reconciled.

Understanding the quotes

The Jardiance-versus-other-SGLT2 guide explains the wider medicine class, while the Farxiga insurance-and-discounts guide has more product-specific information. For a personal comparison, use dated pharmacy quotes and current official program terms. Include the prescribed supply, your eligible payment and any separate care costs for each option.

Questions and answers

Can I compare Jardiance and Farxiga by cost per milligram?

No. Their milligram strengths are not an equivalence scale; compare clinically appropriate prescribed supplies.

Are their assistance routes identical?

No. Product-specific eligibility differs, and AZ&Me has stopped new Farxiga enrollment under its current notice.

Does the same SGLT2 class guarantee the same coverage?

No. The plan can process each product and indication differently.

Does a Xigduo XR price compare directly with Jardiance alone?

No. Xigduo XR adds metformin, so the full regimen must be accounted for.
